2003-2004: Another Grand Review in Kentucky

The second Civil War Band Festival was held in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Band members performed concerts both indoors and outside. Dr. Fennell again served as the guest clinician/conductor. The Grand Review at the university football field was an awesome sight with ALL of the bands marching in to the drum cadence provided by ALL of the drummers from the various bands.

The Thirty-third Illinois Volunteer Regiment Band provided music for the Civil War Re-enactment at Keokuk, Iowa, a re-creation of the Battle of Pea Ridge. The band played several “circle concerts” throughout the campgrounds and provided music for the ball.

The Circus Parade of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was a highlight of the 2003 season! Band members were treated to a “ride” in the parade aboard an antique circus wagon drawn by a team of horses complete with driver. The city was a beautiful sight to those members who had never been there before. And everyone especially enjoyed the “Wild West Show” with Buffalo Bill and Pawnee Bill.
