Keokuk, Delavan & Illinois State Fair

Keokuk (Apr. 25-26)

It is with heavy hearts that the 33rd Illinois Volunteer Regiment Band bids adieu to the annual Civil War re-enactment at Keokuk, Iowa. The band played a concert at the Pavilion at Rand Park on Saturday afternoon and provided music for the ball that evening. The church service on Sunday morning featured the band and reenactors from both sides marching into the Keokuk National Cemetery. Flower pedals were spread on the graves of several soldiers who were buried far away from their homes. Continued below...

Delavan (May 30-31)

Delavan's City Park was the setting for the Delavan Reenactment Weekend again this year. The 33rd Band played for the Saturday night ball. Hymns were provided by the band for the church service on Sunday morning at the band shell on the north side of the park.

Illinois State Fair (Aug. 8)

The “Looking for Lincoln” tent at the Illinois State Fair was nestled into the front lawn of the Illinois Building. The band performed two concerts for fair-goers and provided music of Lincoln's era for all who passed by.
